Thranduil the King by VandalismusGandalf

Format: Commander

Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Sultai Elf-ball deck built around Thranduil, the Elvenking, who turns every Elf card in the graveyard into an activated-ability toolbox and rewards each other legendary Elf with a draw-two. The plan is to accelerate with cheap mana Elves, stock the graveyard with Buried Alive, Entomb, and Silvan Rally, then cast Thranduil and use him as a massive mana dork, token generator, overrun, or sacrifice outlet depending on what was binned. The deck wins through an explosive wide board: Finale of Devastation for a huge X, Tyvar, the Pummeler and Ezuri, Renegade Leader overruns, or Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord sacrificing an enormous Abomination of Llanowar to drain the table. Heavy recursion via Bloodline Bidding, Victimize, and Reanimate makes it resilient through wipes.
