This deck is a focused Mardu combo-aristocrats strategy commanded by Celes, Rune Knight. The primary game plan revolves around exploiting the persist mechanic in conjunction with Celes's triggered ability. When a persist creature such as Putrid Goblin dies and returns from the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter, Celes triggers to place a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. State-based actions cancel the counters out, allowing the creature to be sacrificed to an outlet like Viscera Seer or Goblin Bombardment infinitely. With an aristocrat drainer or entry pinger on the battlefield, this loop generates infinite damage or life drain to eliminate the entire table on Turn 5. The 99 includes robust redundancy through alternate counter-negators such as Vizier of Remedies and Metallic Mimic, multiple reanimation spells, and efficient protection spells like Silence and Blacksmith's Skill to ensure reliable execution.
