Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Golgari Spider tribal deck helmed by Shelob, Child of Ungoliant, built to flood the board with a wide swarm of Spider tokens and leverage the commander's deathtouch and ward {2} anthem to turn every 1/2 body into a rattlesnake. The primary plan is to generate overwhelming token counts through Arachnogenesis, Spider Spawning, and Ishkanah, Grafwidow, doubled by Parallel Lives and Doubling Season, then close out through combat damage supplemented by drain effects from Rotwidow Pack, Obelisk Spider, and Ishkanah's activated ability, or a massive Torment of Hailfire. Assault Formation and Cryptolith Rite convert the wide board into both damage and mana, while Shelob, Dread Weaver and Nyx Weaver provide recursion. It is a slow, grindy battlecruiser deck that wins through inevitability rather than speed.
