Commander: The Mycotyrant

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a graveyard aristocrats engine that wins by looping recursive creatures through free sacrifice outlets to trigger stacked drain effects. The Mycotyrant is a value engine, not a combo piece: it grows with Fungi and Saprolings and creates X 1/1 Fungus tokens at each end step for each descend trigger, feeding sacrifice fodder and mana with Insidious Roots. The hidden commanders are Pitiless Plunderer, Tortured Existence and Insidious Roots, which turn Gravecrawler and Reassembling Skeleton into infinite death loops. Secondary wins use Mirkwood Bats token drain and Craterhoof Behemoth combat. The deck mills, tutors and recurs to assemble redundant Blood Artist effects.
