Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug, Wicked Worm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug, Wicked Worm is a Rakdos treasure-value commander. The deck's primary plan is to produce Treasures, cast Smaug on curve, and use Treasure-spent spells to draw cards while stockpiling tokens. Secondary paths convert those tokens into damage through Mirkwood Bats/Reckless Fireweaver, burn with Smaug the Magnificent, or an alternate 20-artifact win with Hellkite Tyrant. Smaug's ETB scales with opponents' artifacts; when they have few, the deck still has enough treasure producers to function. Magda, Brazen Outlaw acts as a hidden commander, tutoring the dragon or artifact finisher at five Treasures. The deck is a midrange engine rather than an infinite combo deck.
