Commander: The Madcap Jester

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis theft-and-play-from-exile strategy led by The Madcap Jester. The core game plan is to exile cards from opponents' libraries through combat triggers, ETBs, and sorceries, then cast those stolen spells using the commander's "you may play those cards" ability (plus a handful of redundant enablers). The deck generates value by leveraging opponents' own cards against them, building board presence with stolen creatures and deploying powerful effects like Etali, Primal Storm or Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. Burn from Nico Minoru, Runaway and Passionate Archaeologist provides an alternative clock. There are no infinite combos; victory comes through sustained combat damage, commander damage, or milling opponents out via repeated exile triggers. The commander is a strong enabler but is not critical-many other theft engines (Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge, Stolen Strategy, Brainstealer Dragon) can fuel the same plan.
