Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Aristocrats strategy built around Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker and a critical mass of 29 Shadowborn Apostles. The early turns focus on developing Swamps and deploying 1/1 Apostles. On turn 5, Shirei enters the battlefield. On turn 6, sacrificing six Apostles cheats Razaketh, the Foulblooded directly onto the battlefield. Because the Apostles have 1 power, Shirei returns them to play at the beginning of the next end step, repeating this recursion on each player's turn. With Razaketh in play, recurring Apostles tutor game-ending pieces at instant speed. The deck locks opposing creature boards with Grave Pact and closes the game on turn 7 by stacking drain triggers from Syr Konrad, the Grim, Blood Artist, and Bastion of Remembrance, amplified by Archfiend of Despair. While explosive once established, the deck is vulnerable to early sweepers, graveyard exile, and targeted removal aimed at Shirei.
