Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari Elf tribal swarm strategy led by Lathril, Blade of the Elves. The primary game plan accelerates early mana through efficient one- and two-drop mana dorks like Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, and Llanowar Elves, casting Lathril ahead of curve on Turn 3. By connecting with Lathril on Turn 4, the deck generates a growing army of 1/1 Elf Warrior tokens, rapidly scaling toward a critical mass of 10 or more Elves. On Turns 5 through 7, the deck closes out the game by tapping 10 Elves to activate Lathril's 10-life drain ability while simultaneously launching lethal wide combat attacks empowered by tribal lords, Coat of Arms, Timberwatch Elf, or Finale of Devastation. Direct drain spells like Shaman of the Pack and asymmetric attrition from Ruthless Winnower provide reach, while defensive instants like Heroic Intervention and Golgari Charm protect the board from sweepers.
