Deck overview

This deck is a mono-red forced-combat and group-slug engine helmed by Khârn the Betrayer. The game plan revolves around deploying Khârn, passing him to opponents through combat or ping effects, and forcing players to tear each other down with goad mechanics. Because Khârn's damage-prevention clause turns lethal hits into control changes, he survives traditional combat and damage-based wipes like Blasphemous Act while drawing you cards upon your initial pass. Secondary threats like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos and Slicer, Hired Muscle compound the aggression, keeping opponents constantly on the offensive. The deck excels at breaking stalemates and forcing passive pods into bloody exchanges. However, it lacks tutors, counterspells, and enchantment removal. Crucially, goad loses its protective clause once the game enters the final 1v1 duel, requiring decisive combat pieces like Bloodthirster or Brash Taunter to close out the win.
