Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck harnesses sacrifice loops, life-drain triggers, and recursive attrition to overwhelm opponents. Commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the deck leverages its commander primarily as a late-game insurance engine that recurs dying nontoken permanents at each end step. The early game establishes accelerated mana using rituals, low-cost rocks, and land engines like Cabal Coffers and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. By Turn 4, the deck reliably deploys redundant sacrifice outlets such as Warren Soultrader and Carrion Feeder alongside drain permanents like Blood Artist and Bastion of Remembrance. Critical onset occurs on Turn 5 through asymmetric board suppression from Grave Pact, massive life swings from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star, or raw card velocity via Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. Opponents receive one response cycle before recursive sacrifice loops close the game on Turn 6.
