Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Chief of the Wilds to lead an aggressive tribal engine centered on Wolves, +1/+1 counters, and token swarms. The commander provides immediate combat pressure with menace while doubling all triggered abilities from other Wolves and Battles. Explosive mana generators like Gaea's Cradle, Fanatic of Rhonas, and Three Tree City accelerate deployment, allowing the deck to assemble resilient token engines by turn 4. Once established, cards like Hollowhenge Overlord, Doubling Season, and Invasion of Ikoria create a massive board state on turn 5. The deck converts this advantage into a table-wide lethal strike on turn 6 using overrun effects like Overwhelming Stampede and built-in trample enablers. While the list excels at proactive scaling, card draw, and board rebuilding, its reactive disruption suite is relatively lean, prioritizing proactive board dominance over stack-based control.
