Commander: Witch-king of Angmar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Helmed by the Witch-king of Angmar, this is a mono-black aristocrats/drain midrange deck that blends the Ring-tempts mechanic, reanimation, and tutor-assisted combo assembly. The commander's defensive edict - every creature that deals combat damage to you makes its controller sacrifice it and tempts the Ring - deters wide boards, while Call of the Ring and Ringwraiths convert those tempt triggers into cards and recursion. The primary win condition is the infinite life-loss loop of Sanguine Bond with Exquisite Blood, with the parallel Marauding Blight-Priest + Exquisite Blood loop; Gray Merchant of Asphodel devotion, Syr Konrad, the Grim mill-drain, and Unstoppable Slasher wearing Vorpal Sword provide non-combo clocks. A small tutor suite anchored by Emeritus of Woe's Demonic Tutor back face and accelerants like K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth and Bolas's Citadel push the deck toward its loops, while six equipment pieces keep the Witch-king itself a credible evasive threat between combo finds.
