Deck overview

This deck is a Bant Midrange Tempo strategy piloted by Lagrella, the Magpie. The primary game plan focuses on curving out with efficient low-cost creatures, casting Lagrella to temporarily exile key opposing blockers while granting +1/+1 counters to friendly threats, and augmenting attackers with Equipment and combat tricks. The list features a broad suite of reactive interaction and disruptive stax creatures such as Spider-Woman, Stunning Savior, Clarion Conqueror, and Lavinia, Azorius Renegade to slow down faster opponents. An un-tutored two-card hard lock exists via Lavinia, Azorius Renegade and Knowledge Pool, which prevents opponents from resolving spells from hand. In ordinary games, the deck relies on combat pressure to whittle down life totals across multiple turns. Its main limitations stem from a low ramp count, tap-land friction, and prolonged vulnerability to mass creature sweepers.
