Deck overview

This deck executes a Rakdos group-slug strategy led by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap, passive damage sources like Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Underworld Dreams during the opening turns. Once Valgavoth enters the battlefield on Turn 4, these bleed triggers ensure that opponents lose life on each of their turns. This immediately triggers Valgavoth, growing the Elder Demon into a lethal flying threat while drawing three extra cards per table rotation. The deck rapidly compounds this advantage using damage multipliers such as Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might, alongside punishing enchantments like Manabarbs and Spellshock. Opponents face a shrinking life buffer for taking ordinary game actions, while Valgavoth applies heavy aerial pressure. To close out games, the deck leverages mass burn, Wound Reflection, or an infinite lifedrain loop using Enduring Tenacity and Exquisite Blood.
