Deck overview

This Izzet Dragon deck is led by Ganax, Astral Hunter and the Background Feywild Visitor. The deck focuses on accelerating into its commanders to create a compounding engine of Treasure tokens, Faerie Dragon creature tokens, and direct damage. Early turns focus on playing two-mana rocks and cost reducers to cast Feywild Visitor on Turn 3 and Ganax on Turn 4. Once assembled, any Dragon dealing combat damage generates a 1/1 Faerie Dragon token, which triggers Ganax to produce an additional Treasure. Payoffs like Dragon Tempest, Terror of the Peaks, and Scourge of Valkas convert every entering Dragon into direct burn damage, while heavy hitters like Ancient Copper Dragon and Lathliss, Dragon Queen quickly overwhelm opposing life totals. The deck supports its proactive strategy with efficient blue countermagic and protective tools like Deflecting Swat, aiming to assemble an insurmountable flying board by Turn 5 and close out the table by Turn 7.
