Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger combo-control strategy led by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. It controls the early game through efficient cantrips, targeted removal, and flexible counterspells while hitting land drops and deploying mana rocks. Once it establishes six colored mana sources on Turn 6, it casts Niv-Mizzet, Parun—an uncounterable threat that turns every instant and sorcery into card draw and burn. The deck wins by attaching Curiosity or pairing Tandem Lookout to the commander, creating a deterministic loop that draws the entire library and deals lethal direct damage to all opponents in a single turn. Backup win conditions include infinite copy triggers with Ral, Storm Conduit and Twinferno, recurring spells with Underworld Breach, and board control via Hullbreaker Horror.
