Deck overview

This deck utilizes Witherbloom, the Balancer to bridge Golgari token aristocrats and explosive big-mana sorceries. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost token generators such as Bitterblossom, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Ophiomancer alongside mana dorks. Once a wide creature board is established, the commander enters for as little as {B}{G} thanks to its affinity for creatures. The commander then grants affinity to all instant and sorcery spells, dramatically reducing the casting costs of heavyweight spells. This allows Dark Petition, Beseech the Mirror, and Peer into the Abyss to be cast for pure colored pips. Upon resolving a discounted Peer into the Abyss or mass card draw with Plumb the Forbidden, the deck chains mana rituals and aristocrat triggers from Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat, closing the game on Turn 6 through fatal life drain or a lethal Exsanguinate.
