Deck overview

This mono-black control deck is commanded by Black Cat, Cunning Thief and centers on asymmetric card theft, big-mana generation, and table-wide life drain. In the opening turns, the deck deploys dense artifact acceleration and black rituals to ramp into mid-game engines. It quickly establishes resource advantage by exiling high-value cards from opposing libraries using Black Cat, Cunning Thief, Arvinox, the Mind Flail, Gonti, Night Minister, and Brainstealer Dragon. These stolen cards provide versatile answers and threats that can be cast using mana of any type. Meanwhile, the deck builds toward explosive mana pools through Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast. The mid-to-late game converts this mana advantage into game-ending life drain via Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Brainstealer Dragon, and large Exsanguinate casts, often doubled by Panharmonicon or Saw in Half. While lacking stack interaction and enchantment removal, the deck compensates with deep graveyard recursion, resilient protection auras, and persistent card flow.
