Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari Graveyard Midrange strategy commanded by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. It focuses on accumulating experience counters through sacrifice outlets and creature death triggers to repeatedly reanimate high-value utility creatures from the graveyard. In the early game, the deck accelerates mana and seeds the graveyard using efficient self-mill and creature tutors such as Buried Alive and Grisly Salvage. Once Meren enters the battlefield, the deck establishes an oppressive attrition engine by looping edict creatures like Plaguecrafter and defensive pieces like Spore Frog. This locks down opposing creature boards while drawing cards through aristocrat engines such as Midnight Reaper and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. The deck finishes games around turn 8 by looping life-draining payoffs like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Massacre Wurm, and Syr Konrad, the Grim, converting board dominance into decisive table-wide life loss.
