Deck overview

This is an aggressive midrange build of Sauron, the Dark Lord that pairs a classic grixis control shell with a Lord of the Rings tribal payoff. The primary engine is the commander's ability to trade a discard of your hand for a four-card refill every time the Ring tempts you, and the deck packs an enormous density of "Ring tempts you" triggers-nine copies of Nazgul, Call of the Ring, In the Darkness Bind Them, and several Sagas. The army grows through amass Orcs triggers, creating a wide, trampling board that the commander and cards like Bolg, Erebor's Reckoning and Orcish Siegemaster turn into a fast clock. Secondary victory lines involve Living Death or Sauron, Lord of the Rings to resurrect a critical mass of attackers and then push through with protection from the Wraith sub-theme and repeated card advantage.
