Deck overview

This mono-black deck operates as an aristocrats control engine commanded by Liliana, Heretical Healer. The strategy focuses on deploying low-cost recursive creatures such as Reassembling Skeleton and Bloodghast, which it converts into card advantage and mana via sacrifice outlets like Skullclamp, Ashnod's Altar, and Phyrexian Altar. Flipping Liliana into her planeswalker side provides steady discard pressure and repeatable creature reanimation. The deck controls the battlefield through oppressive asymmetric sacrifice effects from Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Plaguecrafter, preventing opponents from developing creature-based threats. Once the board is under control, the deck leverages big mana generators including Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, and Crypt Ghast to finish games using massive drain spells such as Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or repeated loops of Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star.
