Deck overview

This mono-black deck blends Zombie tribal synergy with aristocrat sacrifice loops and discard-based resource denial under Liliana, Heretical Healer. The early game focuses on deploying efficient Zombie fodder, ramping through mana rocks, and transforming the commander into Liliana, Defiant Necromancer on Turn 3 or 4. During the midgame, the deck establishes card advantage engines via Undead Augur and Midnight Reaper while eroding opponent hands through Planeswalker discard abilities and Waste Not. Once graveyards are stocked and black devotion builds, the deck pivots into game-ending pressure through mass reanimation spells like Living Death and Zombie Apocalypse, or high-devotion life drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Zombie lords such as Death Baron, Lord of the Accursed, and Zombie Master grant lethal combat evasion across multiple attacks. While vulnerable to early graveyard hate and lacking stack interaction, the deck maintains high resilience through redundant reanimation and resilient tribal threats.
