Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and combat tempo deck built around Yusri, Fortune's Flame. Yusri provides rapid card flow directly from the command zone by flipping up to five coins whenever it attacks, drawing an average of 2.5 cards per turn cycle at the cost of life loss. The deck leverages this steady stream of cards to fuel cost-reduced instant and sorcery spells, triggering burn and token payoffs such as Guttersnipe, Colorstorm Stallion, and Leitmotif Composer. A suite of efficient interactive spells like Arcane Denial, Chaos Warp, and Resculpt keeps threatening opposing commanders in check while clearing paths for combat damage. While Yusri, Fortune's Flame can theoretically cast an entire hand for free on five winning flips, the primary gameplan reliably wins through incremental spell attrition and evasive combat. The deck's main vulnerabilities are self-inflicted burn damage from failed coin flips and heavy reliance on combat-vulnerable creatures.
