Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure Midrange strategy commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. It accelerates through early artifact ramp and utility creatures into a Turn 4 commander deployment, immediately profiting off opposing mana rocks to generate a hoard of Treasures. Smaug converts banked Treasures into card draw whenever spells are cast with Treasure mana. The deck converts artifact volume into victory through two main avenues: aristocrat-style burn pieces like Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Master, and Mayhem Devil that drain opponents whenever tokens enter or leave, and alternate upkeep win cards like Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant. High-impact dragons such as Cavern-Hoard Dragon and Ancient Copper Dragon provide flying combat pressure and massive resource refills. With free protective spells like Deflecting Swat and board wipes that spare Dragons like Crux of Fate, the deck maintains board control while setting up lethal burst finishes.
