Deck overview

This Simic deck pairs Durnan of the Yawning Portal with Sword Coast Sailor to execute an aggressive big-mana stompy strategy. The Background ensures Durnan attacks safely with unblockable evasion against the player with the most life, triggering his ability to look four cards deep and exile high-impact creatures with an undaunted cost reduction. Backed by low-curve ramp and supplementary reducers like Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius and Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma, the deck reliably casts 7-to-10-mana threats like Apex Devastator and Koma, World-Eater as early as Turn 4. Value engines such as Garruk's Uprising and Up the Beanstalk ensure consistent card replenishment, while Surrak and Goreclaw and Archetype of Imagination provide the evasion and haste necessary to push through lethal trample damage. While light on stack interaction, the deck presents overwhelming combat pressure that quickly overpowers opponents across mid-game combat steps.
