Deck overview

This Kaalia of the Vast deck focuses on deploying the commander on Turn 3 or 4 to cheat massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly into combat. Supported by an asymmetric stax package featuring Static Orb, Meekstone, and Blind Obedience, the deck slows down opponent development and locks down mana, while Kaalia bypasses untap restrictions by putting tapped and attacking creatures into play. A dense suite of low-cost protection spells, including Grand Abolisher, Rebuff the Wicked, and Teferi's Protection, shields Kaalia from removal during critical attack windows. The primary win route applies rapid aerial combat damage through damage doublers like Gisela, extra combat steps from Bloodthirster, or an infinite combat loop with Aurelia, the Warleader and Helm of the Host. The deck's main limitations are thin card draw, scarce reactive removal, and heavy reliance on Kaalia to bypass steep casting costs.
