Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on Chatterfang, Squirrel General to overwhelm opponents through relentless token generation, board control, and aristocrat drain effects. The strategy accelerates in the early turns with efficient mana rocks and utility creatures, aiming to resolve Chatterfang on Turn 3. Once established, any token-producing effect—whether creating Food, Clues, Treasures, or creature tokens—triggers Chatterfang's replacement ability to spawn an equal number of 1/1 green Squirrels. This rapid token multiplication quickly fuels multiple win conditions. The deck can pivot between swarming the board with combat anthems like Beastmaster Ascension and End-Raze Forerunners, or draining the table using Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, and Nadier's Nightblade. Chatterfang also doubles as repeatable creature removal, sacrificing excess Squirrels to eliminate opposing threats while bypassing indestructible. Powerful card-draw engines like Skullclamp, Toski, Bearer of Secrets, and Plumb the Forbidden keep hand sizes full, allowing the deck to sustain pressure and rebuild rapidly after disruption.
