Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan +1/+1 counters and token aggro-midrange build led by Felothar, Dawn of the Abzan. The strategy establishes early board presence using low-cost token producers such as Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Charismatic Conqueror, and Ainok Strike Leader. Deploying Felothar allows you to convert disposable tokens and nonland permanents into team-wide +1/+1 counters on both entry and attack. Counter multipliers like Hardened Scales, Conclave Mentor, and Branching Evolution accelerate power growth, while evasion enablers like Abzan Falconer, Duskshell Crawler, and Kodama of the West Tree push damage through blockers. The deck defends its board with an extensive suite of low-cost protection spells, including Heroic Intervention, Teferi's Protection, and Inspiring Call, alongside death-trigger value engines like The Ozolith and Reyhan, Last of the Abzan. It systematically pressures opposing life totals, eliminating players in consecutive combat steps.
