Deck overview

This mono-blue control and combo deck is commanded by Urza, Lord High Artificer. The strategy focuses on accelerating mana through low-cost artifacts that double as mana producers under Urza. Because the 99 contains only two creature cards—Hullbreaker Horror and Tidespout Tyrant—spells like Polymorph and Proteus Staff targeting Urza's Construct token reliably cheat a game-ending engine directly onto the battlefield. Once on board, casting cheap artifacts creates infinite bounce loops and infinite mana, enabling Urza to exile the entire library and win on the spot through mill or complete board denial. The deck supports this game plan with efficient counterspells, proactive stax pieces like Winter Orb that break parity through Urza's tapping ability, and artifact tutors like Whir of Invention and Reshape.
