Format: Commander

Commander: Oloro, Ageless Ascetic

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Oloro, Ageless Ascetic heads an Esper lifegain-control deck. The primary plan is to survive combat through Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, and Windborn Muse while Oloro's command-zone lifegain accrues and feeds Sanguine Bond. The main kill is Sanguine Bond plus Bloodthirsty Conqueror; any life gain, even Oloro's upkeep trigger, creates an infinite drain loop. Secondary paths use Ashnod's Altar, Pitiless Plunderer, and Reassembling Skeleton to make infinite death triggers and mana, converted by Dreadhound, Elas il-Kor, or Exsanguinate. Tutors and draw spells such as Ad Nauseam and Bolas's Citadel find the pieces. There is no true hidden commander; Emeritus of Woe // Demonic Tutor effectively includes an extra Demonic Tutor.
