Ruric Thar by user1306931

Format: Commander

Commander: Ruric Thar, the Unbowed

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Gruul deck centers on Ruric Thar, the Unbowed as a deterrent against noncreature spells, but the list itself includes roughly twenty noncreature cards (artifacts, instants, sorceries, enchantments, a planeswalker) that trigger Ruric Thar's own ability, creating a notable anti-synergy. The primary plan is to ramp into large creatures like Ulamog's Crusher, Terra Stomper, and Ghoultree and win through combat damage. Secondary payoffs include Bhaal's Invoker for a damage burst and Minion of the Mighty to cheat Dragons onto the battlefield. The deck lacks explosive speed, consistent card draw, and robust stack interaction, making it a slow, casual beatdown build that often fights its own commander.
