Deck overview

This deck is an Esper control and combo strategy led by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. It leverages Y'shtola's burn and lifegain triggers alongside a high density of noncreature spells, pillowfort defenses, and steady card advantage engines like Curiosity, Rhystic Study, and Talion, the Kindly Lord. While it controls the battlefield using premium removal and counterspells, it digs deep into the 99 to locate decisive two-card infinite drain combinations—most notably Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity, as well as Mindcrank with Bloodchief Ascension.
