Deck overview

Ghave, Guru of Spores is the centerpiece of an Abzan aristocrats/combo deck that turns +1/+1 counters, token generation, and sacrifice outlets into a compact infinite loop. There is no hidden commander: both of Ghave's activated abilities are used constantly to create Saprolings and move counters. The primary plan is to ramp into Ghave, then tutor for a sac outlet and a drain effect; the secondary path is the commander-less Scurry Oak + Ivy Lane Denizen + Blasting Station kill. Token doublers and counter doublers multiply the value of every engine piece. The deck wins by infinite death triggers, infinite mana, or an enormous Finale of Devastation, usually on the turn it commits to the loop.
