Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Dragon Midrange strategy commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. It blends Dwarven Treasure production with high-power Dragon threats to establish card advantage and overwhelming board presence. In the early game, cheap mana rocks and Dwarves such as Magda, Brazen Outlaw build mana velocity. Casting the commander capitalizes on opponents' early artifacts by generating a burst of tapped Treasures, which subsequently turn every spell cast into card draw. The mid-game transitions into dropping lethal flyers like Ancient Copper Dragon, Hellkite Tyrant, and Smaug the Impenetrable. Haste enablers like Dragon Tempest and Rising of the Day ensure immediate damage, while Warstorm Surge and Mirkwood Bats convert Treasure generation and creature entries into non-combat burn. The deck wins by delivering heavy flying damage across two combat rotations, closing games around Turn 8.
