Deck overview

This deck is a high-speed glass-cannon combo build that replaces every land in the 99 with Modal Double-Faced Cards (MDFCs). Because MDFCs are nonlands on their front faces, the library contains zero land cards. This allows single cards like Hermit Druid, Balustrade Spy, and Undercity Informer to mill the entire library in one shot. Once the library is in the graveyard, Narcomoeba enters the battlefield automatically, providing fodder alongside other creatures to cast Dread Return for its flashback cost. Dread Return reanimates Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac to secure an instant victory. The deck is backed by fast mana, black rituals, cheap reanimation, and redundant win lines such as Tainted Pact and Demonic Consultation. Esika, God of the Tree serves primarily as a five-color identity enabler, ensuring access to every color of MDFC spell-land.
