Deck overview

This Sultai Elf-tribal combo deck is helmed by Thranduil, the Elvenking, who serves as both a draw engine (drawing two cards whenever another legendary Elf enters) and a mana engine (gaining the activated abilities of every Elf in the graveyard). The deck ramps explosively with sixteen mana dorks, deploys Thranduil by turn three or four, then assembles one of several infinite-mana combinations - Devoted Druid + Freed from the Real, Marwyn, the Nurturer + Staff of Domination, or Thranduil himself with a key Elf in the graveyard - before converting that mana into a win through Staff of Domination deck-drawing, Finale of Devastation overrun, Ezuri, Renegade Leader's trample pump, or Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord's sacrifice drain. A dense tutor suite (Fauna Shaman, Prime Speaker Vannifar, Eladamri, Korvecdal) and a secondary wide-army combat plan give the deck multiple paths to close out games.
