Commander: Jon Irenicus, the Exile

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir control/mill strategy helmed by Jon Irenicus, the Exile. The primary game plan is to draw cards, maintain a library advantage over opponents, and eventually assemble an infinite life-drain combo using Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror paired with Sanguine Bond. A secondary mill plan leverages Bruvac the Grandiloquent and Terisian Mindbreaker to deck opponents. The commander provides a steady card-draw engine and mill pressure, while the deck packs a mix of counterspells, removal, and mass reanimation as backup. The strategy is slow but resilient, relying on incremental advantage and a single explosive combo turn.
