Commander: Kona, Rescue Beastie

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Kona, Rescue Beastie is a mono-green survival deck built around tapping the commander to cheat huge permanents into play during the second main phase. Ramp gets Kona down on turns 3-4, then combat or cheap tap outlets like Springleaf Drum and Jaspera Sentinel trigger her survival ability every turn. The primary plan is to drop 8-12 power tramplers such as Gigantosaurus, Vorinclex, and Ghalta while Garruk's Uprising, Goreclaw, and Stonehoof Chieftain provide trample and draw. Secondary paths include hardcasting fatties with Nissa or Vorinclex mana, Ojer Kaslem's combat trigger, and Evercoat Ursine's hideaway. Hydra Omnivore plus Colossification or Exponential Growth can end the game in one swing. Ojer Kaslem is a powerful secondary engine, but there is no hidden commander.
