Deck overview

This Golgari deck is commanded by Aphelia, Viper Whisperer and executes an aggressive combat strategy centered on deathtouch tribal synergies, token generation, and fast lethal multipliers. The early turns focus on developing cheap deathtouch creatures, ramping mana, and casting Aphelia on Turn 2. Aphelia reliably generates 1/1 deathtouch Snake tokens on attack triggers, building a wide board of lethal blockers and attackers. The deck converts this wide presence into a rapid win through two primary avenues: Fynn, the Fangbearer, which inflicts two poison counters per deathtouch hit, and Aphelia's activated ability, which halves defending players' life totals on damage. Card advantage engines such as Skullclamp, Call of the Ring, and Ohran Frostfang keep resources flowing, while cheap instant-speed protection like Snakeskin Veil and Royal Treatment shields key pieces from targeted removal. The deck consistently establishes decisive pressure around Turn 5 and closes the table by Turn 7.
