Deck overview

This mono-blue deck helmed by Hermes, Overseer of Elpis blends bird tribal synergy with a spellslinger control shell. The core loop is casting noncreature spells to generate 1/1 Bird tokens with flying and vigilance, then using scry triggers from attacking Birds to churn through the deck. Tribal anthems like Favorable Winds and Banner of Kinship turn the token swarm into a legitimate combat threat, while a dense suite of counterspells and instant-speed removal controls the board. The deck can also assemble an infinite-turns combo using Time Warp and Narset's Reversal, though it lacks the tutors to find it reliably. The primary path to victory is incremental combat damage, supported by Candlekeep Inspiration to make Birds enormous and a single extra-turn spell to accelerate the clock.
