Deck overview

This mono-black deck is a synergistic kindred strategy built around the Villain creature type, led by Doctor Doom, Unrivaled. The deck curves low-cost Villain creatures into its commander, leveraging connive mechanics to sculpt hands and fuel the graveyard while growing its board. Doctor Doom, Unrivaled sits in the command zone as a reliable source of card draw and lifelink. The deck wins by flooding the board with evasive menace Villain tokens from sources like Crimson Cowl, Master of Evil and Endless Ranks of HYDRA, pumping them with team-wide buffs from Citizen V, Helmut Zemo, The Masters of Evil, or Door of Destinies, and chipping down life totals with aristocrat triggers from Criminal Enterprise and Crossbones, Malicious Mercenary. Its straightforward combat approach is supported by efficient creature removal like Toxic Deluge and Lethal Scheme, though it relies heavily on maintaining a wide creature board to close games by Turn 8.
