Deck overview

This Jeskai tempo deck harnesses Massimo, the Magician to transform combat connections into free spell casts. The early game establishes cheap, unblockable attackers such as Slither Blade and Invisible Stalker while filtering 1-CMC utility and burn spells into the graveyard using cards like Faithless Looting and Thought Scour. Once Massimo enters on Turn 4, these creatures exile high-value 1-CMC spells to cast free copies whenever they deal combat damage. By imprinting multi-target burn like Boltwave or card draw like Birthday Escape, and pairing them with double strike enablers such as Blade Historian or Magecraft triggers from Fiery Inscription and Guttersnipe, the deck rapidly drains all opponents simultaneously. Strong defensive options like Teferi's Veil and Fierce Guardianship keep the engine safe from opposing sweepers and removal while it closes the game around Turn 7.
