Valgavoth by CDK1NG

Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos group-slug / pain deck helmed by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The plan is to flood the board with incremental life-loss engines-draw punishers, landfall taxes, upkeep pingers, and cast triggers-then let the table bleed out while Valgavoth converts every first life-loss on an opponent's turn into a +1/+1 counter and a card. Solphim, Mayhem Dominus doubles noncombat damage to close games faster, and finishers like Chandra's Ignition, Massacre Wurm, and a grown airborne Valgavoth provide decisive bursts. The deck leans on stax-adjacent taxes (Manabarbs, Ankh of Mishra, Zo-Zu the Punisher, Harsh Mentor) rather than infinite combos, grinding multiplayer pods through inevitability and a dense instant-speed interaction suite. Secondary pressure comes from emblems (Chandra, Awakened Inferno), quest payoffs (Bloodchief Ascension), and goad/politics via Kardur, Doomscourge.
