Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mardu aggro-cheat build helmed by Kaalia of the Vast. The core strategy accelerates Kaalia into play on turns 3 or 4, equips haste, and cheats game-ending Angels, Demons, and Dragons onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. It pressures the table through high-impact combat triggers, including lethal one-shot combos like Master of Cruelties, damage multipliers like Archfiend of Despair and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, and value engines like Razaketh, the Foulblooded and Vilis, Broker of Blood. The deck supports this game plan with a robust suite of protective instants, such as Deflecting Swat, Flawless Maneuver, and Teferi's Protection, alongside efficient targeted removal. While highly lethal in combat, the deck relies heavily on its commander to bypass hefty mana costs, making early mana acceleration and haste enablers critical for consistent execution.
