Deck overview

Codie, Ravenous Codex commands a five-color Spellslinger strategy centered on the Prepare mechanic and spell-copy synergies. The deck leverages creatures that enter prepared—such as Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song, Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall, and Skycoach Conductor // All Aboard—to cast potent instant and sorcery copies from outside the hand. Codie automatically duplicates every prepared spell, turning modest investments into massive bursts of mana, cards, and board interaction. Cost reducers like Sage of the Beyond and Fortune Teller's Talent combined with Magecraft engines like Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus transform these copied spells into self-sustaining storm sequences. The deck protects its setup with a premier countermagic suite including Mana Drain, Swan Song, and Autumn's Veil. Once assembled on Turn 4, the deck reliably initiates a lethal storm turn on Turn 5, eliminating all three opponents in a single burst through duplicated burn spells and massive mana generation.
