Deck overview

This Gruul midrange deck is led by Aerid Konstrari, a commander that creates mana-producing Heartwood tokens whenever it enters the battlefield or dies. The strategy focuses on rapidly building a critical mass of artifact tokens—including Heartwood, Treasures, Foods, and Golems—and converting that artifact count into overwhelming advantages. Early turns focus on establishing two-mana ramp and artifact filtering to deploy Aerid by turn 3. From there, the deck amplifies its board with token doublers like Parallel Lives and payoff creatures like Academy Manufactor. The deck finishes games through two primary angles: massive combat damage using pump effects from Aerid, Craterclaw Colossus, and Depthshaker Titan, or direct burn via entry pingers like Reckless Fireweaver and Ingenious Artillerist. It also features an infinite draw-and-token combo between Nuka-Cola Vending Machine and Peregrin Took. Overall, it offers resilient mana velocity, strong engine recovery, and explosive burst damage.
