Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord leads a Grixis control and midrange strategy that weaponizes spell-heavy pods. Sauron amasses an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells and converts Army combat damage into a repeatable four-card hand refresh whenever the Ring tempts you. The deck controls the board using efficient spot removal and countermagic while developing mana rocks and engine enchantments. Once Sauron and an amassed Army dominate the battlefield, the deck closes games through massive combat swings empowered by double strike from Embercleave or Temur Battle Rage, widespread burn from Chandra's Ignition, or burst damage from Fling and Kazuul's Fury.
