Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity mono-black competitive combo list piloted by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. The core strategy revolves around casting K'rrik on Turn 2 or 3 using explosive black rituals and fast mana. Once on the board, K'rrik converts all black mana pips into 2 life payments, allowing the deck to cheat significant mana costs. The pilot then leverages life as a primary resource to power massive draw engines like Peer into the Abyss and Vilis, Broker of Blood, or directly tutor win lines. Multiple compact finish lines are supported: the infinite Magecraft drain of Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog, reanimation loops using Necrotic Ooze with Asmodeus the Archfiend and Skirge Familiar, and Chainer, Dementia Master reanimating Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Supported by targeted removal and Defense Grid, the deck consistently closes out 4-player pods on Turn 3.
