Deck overview

This deck is a unique 5-color spellslinger strategy built entirely out of creature cards to satisfy the companion condition of Umori, the Collector. Commanded by Codie, Ravenous Codex, the list sidesteps traditional instant and sorcery slots by employing creatures with the prepare mechanic alongside Adventure creatures. Once deployed, Codie doubles the value of prepared spells whenever they are cast, turning cheap modal spells into devastating bursts of card advantage and board presence. Payoffs like Storm-Kiln Artist, Kykar, Wind's Fury, Vraska, Soul of Stone, and Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revival generate swarms of tokens and Treasures with every cast, while Magmablood Archaic turns low-cost spells into massive power buffs for a lethal combat swing. While the all-creature restriction precludes traditional countermagic and defensive spells, the deck compensates with explosive velocity, high density of redundant engines, and strong resilience against single-target disruption.
