Deck overview

This deck is a competitive mono-blue Polymorph stax build designed to assemble a protected combo finish on Turn 3 while disrupting opponents with early asymmetric lock pieces. The strategy relies on running only two creatures in the 99: Hullbreaker Horror and Tidespout Tyrant. Using fast mana such as Mishra's Workshop, Mox Diamond, and Sol Ring, the deck deploys early stax staples like Trinisphere, Back to Basics, and Cursed Totem to stall opposing development. The commander provides static split second to all friendly instants and sorceries, creating an uncounterable window to resolve Polymorph or Proteus Staff. Once Hullbreaker Horror enters the battlefield, chaining zero- and one-mana artifacts generates infinite mana and infinite bounce triggers across all opposing permanents. The pilot finishes the game in the same turn by casting Brain Freeze to mill all opponents out. Comprehensive free countermagic, robust card draw engines, and man-land redundancy make the deck resilient against disruption.
